Acne, Treated Properly.
Acne is a medical condition, not a hygiene problem, and we treat it that way with a plan built around your skin, your age, and your routine.

What We Look at First
Acne starts when oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria block a follicle and the wall of that follicle becomes inflamed. It is driven by hormones, genetics, and the health of your skin barrier far more than by anything you did or did not wash off your face. We start there, because treating the cause is what keeps it from returning.
Ansa assesses your skin in person and looks at the kind of breakout you are getting, where it sits, and how your skin has reacted to what you are already using. Congestion and blackheads need something different from deep, painful lumps along the jaw, and treating both the same way is why a lot of routines stall after a few weeks.
From there we build a course rather than a single facial. That usually means in office treatment on a set rhythm, a simplified home routine you will realistically keep up with, and a review where we adjust based on what your skin actually did. Skin turns over slowly, so we measure progress in weeks rather than days.
Four Reasons People Come to Us for Acne
Seen by a Clinician
Your skin is assessed and treated by a board certified nurse practitioner, not handed to a technician.
No Lectures About Washing
We do not blame you for your skin. We look for causes, then build the plan around them.
A Routine You Can Keep
We simplify what you use at home so the plan survives school, work, and a genuinely busy week.
Care That Adjusts
If your skin is not responding the way we expected, we change the approach instead of repeating it.
What a Course of Acne Care Supports
Change is gradual and skin sometimes looks a little busier before it settles, because congestion already sitting under the surface has to clear.
Fewer Active Breakouts
Treatment calms inflammation and clears congestion, so new spots tend to appear less often across a course.
Calmer Redness
Inflamed skin gradually settles, which softens the flushed look that often bothers people more than the spots do.
Refined Surface Texture
Clearing trapped oil and debris smooths the skin surface, so pores and roughness read as less obvious.
A Stronger Barrier
We repair the dryness and stinging that harsh products cause, so your skin tolerates active treatment better.
Lower Risk of Marking
Controlling inflammation early is the best thing we can do to limit the marks acne leaves behind.
Confidence in the Mirror
Skin that is settling down changes how you feel about photographs, classrooms, and standing close to people.
How We Keep Acne Care Safe
Acne treatment can be pushed too hard. Aggressive exfoliation or heat on already inflamed skin can trigger more inflammation, and in deeper skin tones that inflammation frequently leaves discoloration that outlasts the spot itself. We calibrate strength to what your skin is doing on the day, which sometimes means treating more gently than you hoped.
Ansa works under a clinical license at our New City office, so she can assess your skin properly, recognise when acne is severe enough to need medical management, and say so. If your acne needs a route we do not offer, we will tell you at the consultation rather than sell you a course that was never going to be enough.

Consistency Beats Intensity Every Time.
Skin responds to steady, repeated care far better than to one aggressive session. We would rather treat you gently six times than once too hard.

What Your First Acne Visit Involves
Your first visit is mostly conversation and assessment. We look at your skin without makeup, talk through when the breakouts began, what has helped, what made things worse, and whether anything hormonal lines up with the pattern. Parents are welcome to sit in, and younger patients are welcome to answer for themselves.
If your skin is calm enough to treat that day, we usually will, starting conservatively so we can see how you respond. If it is too inflamed, we say so and give you a short reset plan first. Either way you leave with a written home routine and a clear idea of the timeline ahead.
Questions Patients and Parents Ask
Most people start to see fewer new breakouts across the first four to six weeks, and clearer texture after that. Skin cycles slowly, so the honest answer is months rather than days. We review at set points and adjust if the pace is not what we expected.
Yes, and a good deal of our acne work is with patients in their teens. Ansa assesses skin maturity and adjusts strength accordingly, and a parent is welcome to be in the room. Treating acne early is also the best way to limit the scarring it can leave.
Adult acne is common and usually looks different from teenage acne, often sitting along the jaw and chin and flaring in a monthly pattern. Hormonal shifts, stress, and barrier damage from strong products all contribute. We assess for the pattern before choosing an approach.
Not necessarily, but we will go through it with you. Some products are quietly making things worse, usually by stripping the barrier, and some are worth keeping. We simplify rather than replace everything, because a routine you keep beats a routine you abandon.
Yes. We will talk about what to avoid immediately after a treatment and what tends to sit well on skin that is being treated. We are not going to ask you to give up makeup while your skin is settling, because that is not realistic for most people.
