What It Is

What a Hangover Drip Is and Is Not

You feel terrible the morning after because alcohol pulls fluid out of you, strips electrolytes, irritates your stomach lining, and leaves an inflammatory response behind. A hangover drip goes straight at those four things: balanced fluid to restore volume, electrolytes to correct what you lost, B vitamins that alcohol depletes, and, where appropriate, medication for nausea or headache. It takes under an hour.

Oral rehydration works too, and we will say so. The reason a drip helps on a bad morning is that a queasy stomach struggles to keep water down, and vomiting makes the deficit worse rather than better. Putting fluid into a vein skips that problem entirely, which is why relief tends to arrive in a shorter window than a bottle of water and a nap.

Now the part that matters. This is symptom relief, nothing more. It does not protect your liver, it does not undo what alcohol did overnight, and it is not a reason to drink more than you otherwise would. If you are booking this often, that pattern is worth a real conversation, and we would rather have it with you than keep handing you a bag.

This treats symptoms of dehydration, not the effect alcohol has on your liver.

Why People Choose It

Four Reasons People Choose a Hangover Drip

01

Fast Rehydration

Fluid goes straight into your bloodstream, so you are not waiting on a stomach that is already refusing water.

02

Nausea Relief

Where it is appropriate, we can include medication for nausea so you can keep fluids and food down again.

03

Clinical Oversight

A board certified nurse practitioner screens you, selects the formula, and places the line herself every single time.

04

Under an Hour

Most appointments are short enough to fit into a morning, and you leave with a clear plan for the rest of the day.

What It Supports

What a Hangover Drip Relieves

Expect relief from the symptoms that make the morning unbearable, understood as short term help while your body finishes clearing alcohol on its own schedule, not as a shortcut around it.

01

Fluid Balance

Balanced saline restores the circulating volume alcohol pulled out of you overnight, which is where most of the misery comes from.

02

Headache Relief

Rehydration addresses a large part of the headache, and we can add appropriate medication when your history allows it.

03

Nausea and Stomach

Anti nausea medication and gentle fluid give your stomach a chance to settle before you try eating again.

04

Electrolyte Repletion

Sodium, potassium, and magnesium go back in, which supports normal muscle and nerve function after a heavy night.

05

B Vitamin Support

Alcohol depletes B vitamins, and replacing them supports the pathways your body uses to turn food into energy.

06

Mental Clarity

Correcting fluid and electrolyte loss usually lifts the fog enough that you can think, work, and eat normally.

Science and Safety

What a Drip Can Do and What It Cannot

Fluid and electrolytes genuinely correct dehydration, and that part is not up for debate. Anti nausea medication works, and replacing B vitamins after alcohol is sensible. What no infusion does is metabolize alcohol for you. Your liver clears it at its own rate, and nothing in a bag speeds that up. What a drip changes is how tolerable the wait feels while that happens.

Screening matters here more than you might expect. Severe vomiting, confusion, chest pain, or abdominal pain after drinking can point at something that belongs in an emergency room, not a treatment chair. We check your vital signs, ask about heart and kidney history, and review every medication before we start. If your symptoms look like more than a hangover, we send you where you need to go.

We do not add medication that conflicts with what you already take.
We never describe this treatment as protection against alcohol related harm.

Relief, Not a Free Pass.

We will help you feel human again, and we will never pretend that a bag of fluid makes heavy drinking safer than it is.

What to Expect

What the Appointment Actually Involves

You come in, we take your blood pressure and pulse, and we go through what you drank, when you stopped, what you have eaten, and what medication you take. Ansa decides on the formula from that, builds it herself, and places the line. You sit in a chair with a blanket while the bag runs, usually somewhere between forty minutes and an hour.

Relief usually builds through the infusion rather than arriving all at once, and hydration keeps working for a few hours afterwards. We ask you to eat something plain, keep drinking water, and give the rest of the day some grace. If you are still vomiting, still in pain, or feeling worse by evening, call us or go to urgent care, because that is no longer a hangover.

Bring a list of every medication and supplement you currently take.
Tell us honestly how much you drank, because it changes what we give.
Eat something light beforehand if your stomach will tolerate it.
Plan on roughly an hour from arrival to walking back out.
Questions

Questions We Are Asked Most

For the dehydration part, yes, and that is a genuine effect rather than a placebo. Fluid, electrolytes, and anti nausea medication address the symptoms that make you feel awful. What it does not do is clear alcohol from your system any faster, because only your liver does that. It makes the recovery more comfortable, not shorter.

We do not offer that, and we would ask you not to think of it that way. Pre loading fluid does not prevent a hangover, and framing an infusion as preparation for a heavy night is the opposite of what we are here for. If you want to feel better the next morning, the reliable answer is less alcohol and more water while you drink.

You will usually notice the nausea settle first, often within the first twenty minutes, and the headache tends to ease as the bag runs. By the end of the infusion most of the fluid deficit is corrected. Full recovery still depends on sleep and food, so expect a better afternoon rather than an instant reset.

We would rather you did not, and we will say that to your face. Frequent hangover drips tell us something about a drinking pattern, and treating the symptom every week does nothing about the cause. If you find yourself booking regularly, we will talk with you about it and point you toward proper support.

No. Nothing we put in a bag shields your liver, and any clinic telling you otherwise is selling something. Alcohol related liver injury comes from how much and how often you drink over years, and the only thing that changes that is drinking less. We treat the morning after, and we are clear that this is all we treat.
