What It Is

What IV Hydration Is For

IV hydration is fluid and electrolytes delivered directly into a vein, under clinical supervision. People ask about it after long flights, hot days, hard training blocks, and stretches where they simply have not been drinking enough. It is hydration support for people who want it, and we describe it as nothing more than that.

It is not emergency care and it is not a treatment for any medical condition. If you are significantly unwell, if you cannot keep fluids down, or if how you feel is new and unexplained, the right place for you is your physician or an emergency department, and we will tell you that rather than run a line.

Straightforward does not mean casual. We take a history, check your medications, ask about your kidney and heart health, and confirm that an infusion is appropriate before we place anything. That consultation happens before your first session, without exception, and it is done by the clinician who will treat you.

Why People Choose It

Four Reasons People Book Hydration

01

A Short, Simple Session

Hydration infusions are usually the quickest thing we do, and most people are in and out.

02

Supervised by a Clinician

A board certified nurse practitioner takes the history, places the line, and monitors the whole session.

03

Fluid You Do Not Have to Drink

Some people struggle to rehydrate by mouth after travel or heat and want another route.

04

A Clear Answer on Suitability

If your history makes an infusion unwise, or if you need a doctor, we say so.

What It Supports

What a Hydration Session Involves

This is deliberately modest in what it claims: you receive fluid and electrolytes in a supervised setting, and how you feel afterwards varies.

01

Fluid and Electrolytes

A measured volume of fluid with electrolytes, given at a controlled rate across the session.

02

A Quick Appointment

Most hydration sessions are short, which is why people fit them around work and travel.

03

Monitoring Throughout

You are checked before the line goes in, watched while it runs, and reviewed afterwards.

04

A Private Room

Sessions run in a quiet private space rather than a shared row of treatment chairs.

05

An Alternative Route

Useful for people who find it difficult to take on enough fluid by mouth.

06

No Standing Commitment

We do not sell hydration as a subscription, and for most people this stays occasional.

Science and Safety

Where We Stop and Refer

There is a line between wanting fluids and needing medical care, and we take it seriously. Dehydration that is severe, persistent vomiting, fever, chest symptoms, or anything new and unexplained belongs with your physician or an emergency department. We will not treat around a problem that needs proper assessment somewhere else.

Inside that boundary, the process is careful. Ansa Kandamkulathy is a board certified family nurse practitioner, she reviews your medications, allergies and kidney and heart history before your first infusion, and she monitors you throughout. Fluids are not appropriate for everyone, and we decline when that is the honest answer.

What to Expect

Your Session, Start to Finish

The first visit begins with the consultation. We go through your medical history, your medications and your allergies, ask what has been going on, and confirm that a hydration infusion is appropriate for you. If it is, we can usually run the session the same day and explain exactly what you will be receiving.

A small cannula goes into the arm, the fluid runs at a controlled rate, and you sit comfortably while it does. We adjust the rate for your comfort and check on you throughout. Afterwards we remove the line, look you over, and give you guidance on drinking normally once you are home.

Eat beforehand and wear something with easy sleeve access.
Bring your current medication and supplement list to the first visit.
Sessions are short, and you are monitored from start to finish.
Tell us straight away if anything feels wrong during the infusion.
Questions

Hydration Questions We Get Asked

Most hydration sessions run under an hour, and often less, depending on the volume and the rate we set for your comfort. Your first appointment takes longer because the consultation comes first. We will tell you the realistic timing when we book you in.

People do ask, and we handle it the way we handle any other request, with a consultation first. We provide fluid and electrolytes under supervision, and we do not present that as a treatment for anything. If you feel genuinely unwell, see a physician rather than booking an infusion.

The only real sensation is the cannula going in, and that is brief. After that most people feel nothing beyond a cool feeling in the arm as the fluid runs. Tell us if anything is uncomfortable and we will adjust the rate.

That is a conversation, not a fixed schedule. For most people this is something occasional rather than routine, and if you are asking about it more often than we think is sensible, we will say so. We do not sell it as a standing appointment.

Usually yes, because we do not give anything sedating. We still check you over before you leave, and we would rather you sat for a few minutes than rushed out of the door. If you feel lightheaded at any point, tell us.
